General aims
- Cultivating interdisciplinary approach for environmental issues, vs Agenda 21, and for implementation of governmental environmental policy on sustainability.
- Artists-Scientists collaboration with the community to restore and reclaim damaged public's open spaces, and to raise environmental awareness.
Projects aims
Creating physical, cultural, artistic, ecological, spiritual processes for restoring and reviving damaged streams in the Negev, through building small teams around 3-5 streams, along with the community.
Assisting in turning ecological , esthetical, visual, heritage values that exist in the immediate surrounding of the community base, but in fact are unseen, into points of attraction and support the living of the dwellers near by through eco-tourism.
Future aims
Producing the 1st eco-art Triannale - smaller event in 2006, the big event in 2008 - 60 years' celebration of Israel. showing Israeli reclamation teams' work, along with international teams.
process
Two streams were selected for the 1st stage: Hava ( Eve ) Stream near Mizpe Ramon and Meitar stream in Hura Regional Beduine Council.
The IFfEA was asked to curate, produce and organize the process, along with the Blaustein Institute for Desert Research, scientists from the Ben-Gurion Univ., the people of Mizpe, and people of Hura, the Ramon Science Center, the municipality from both cities, the Nature & Park Authority, The Negev Development's Authority and Foreign ministry, Green Beersheva volunteers.
Future collaboration - Tourism ministry, Ministry of Environment, Mine reclamation fund. Negev drainage authority.
